Hongjitang holds National Forum for Diagnosis and Treatment of Interstitial Lung Disease through the Integrated Approach of TCM and Western Medicine

On July 9, the National Forum for Diagnosis and Treatment of Interstitial Lung Disease through the Integrated Approach of TCM and Western Medicine was held at Hongjitang.

Interstitial lung disease (ILD) is one of the four major respiratory diseases with rising prevalence worldwide. The newly founded Committee for Research on ILD Prevention and Treatment Technology unter Shandong Traditional Chinese Medicine Association (STCMA) shall serve as a platform for prescription sharing to improve the effectiveness of ILD treatment with TCM, meanwhile promoting the R&D of new TCM drugs and standardization of diagnosis and treatment of the disease.

During the forum, TCM experts had in-depth exchanges from different perspectives, such as the therapeutic status quo of interstitial lung diseases, epidemiology and medication administration, with focus on Jinbei Koufuye.

Jinbei Koufuye is a TCM product for the treatment of idiopathic pulmonary fibrosis. It shows great clinical efficacy and less adverse reactions, helping improve the life quality of patients. The Development of Jinbei Koufuye and its Application in Respiratory Diseases, a research project carried out by Hongjitang TCM Institute, won the first prize of the first Shandong Traditional Chinese Medicine Industry Science and Technology Award.
